Raidou gladly retracted his hand after his friend took the yakitori, knowing that Genma was too drunk to really register any of this anyway. Everyone was, actually. It seemed like he had slowed down and everyone else had started to speed up the drinking process. He lifted a hand, getting the attention of a young waiter and asked for a glass of water -- he had hit the wall between being drunk and buzzed. He felt a bit of warmness on his cheeks, less stressed now that he wasn't as focused on other duties. He was able to still properly process stuff, but he was slowed. Raidou thanked the man and apologized for the loudness, giving him a tip for being so patient. They were all a little loose with their wallets but, being with friends, it wasn't that bad.
He had become less of a target of all of the jounin's attention, sitting quietly and listening to all of his friends ramble on foolishly. He listened to Genma and Shizune, smiling a bit; his friend trying to act smooth or cool at all, especially while drunk, was worth the listen and Shizune had simply taken it as if it normal. He'd hadn't been paying attention to Kakashi and Tsume's talk but, with Kakashi quickly turning and speaking to him, he had missed something. Kakashi actually seemed a bit flustered, unless it was the alcohol.
"Hey, friends are friends. I might be too patient but they're all great to talk to drunk. Very insightful."
He shrugged a bit, taking a short drink of his water. He'd ducked out pretty quick but he didn't need the headache each one of the other jounin were probably going to get. He knew that he had plenty to go before he'd be truly drunk -- even being buzzed, showing some form of self-control was nice. Future Raidou will thank Present Raidou for this.

Genma hadn't expected anything to result from Shizune's teasing, let alone a promise--and a promise to get him wrapped around her finger, no less. Perhaps if Genma had been more sober, he would have realized that this was probably her intention from the start, but he was slow and oblivious to anything of that nature. If anything, she already had him there, and it took great restraint not to tell her that--even Genma's slurring subconscious knew that admitting his intermittent trips to the hospital would be the worst idea he could ever come up with.
Shaking Shizune's hand might have been a terrible idea too--the whole thing was probably a joke, and he wouldn't even remember her promises of false hope in the morning. Still, his head was light, her slurring was cute and her confidence in their handshake had his arm moving of it's own according. "That's going to be a hard bargain," he laughed, barely even regarding how Tsume was getting wrapped into it already. Luckily he missed the exchange between Kakashi and Tsume, too busy with his own pathetic thoughts to realize that they were flirting so obviously--something he would have called out on. On the other hand, he did notice Tsume screaming his name again, slowly turning towards her and wondering if he'd ever get a moment without Tsume shouting for sake and ruining it. "By all accounts drink more, maybe you'll pass out first," he smirked, despite the fact he wasn't holding his own alcohol too well. "Rai, remember who falls asleep first, okaaay? I don't trust Kakashi to tell the truth," he squinted, well aware that the Jounin would probably turn against him.

"Mmm, they just might," Tsume laughed, looking over Kakashi again before turning her attention to the medicnin beside, missing most of what had gone on since she'd turned her predatory eye to the copy ninja. All she knew now was Shizune was shaking hands with both her and Genma, and Tsume had no idea what she was agreeing to--it could have been a threesome for all she knew, but that was actually fine, and she doubted much of what she could be agreeing to would be an issue, so shrugging, she shook Shizune's hand as well.
Tsume didn't miss Raidou ask the waiter for a cup of water, pouting at him like it was the ultimate betrayal when she knew he'd be the first to stop drinking alcohol and switching it over for water from the get-go. She always wondered why he came along with them to Shushuya--she couldn't recall ever seeing Raidou drunk, was it true that every time he came close, he started sipping at water instead? "Oi, Raidou, do you just come to babysit him?" she asked, well aware that he was probably here babysitting all of them, but it was easier and more amusing to pretend that it was just Genma he was trying to look after.
Still, she did know what he was saying after, having finally turned her attention away from Kakashi again. "You think I'll pass out first? Ha! There's no way! You've got some big dreams there, Shiranui," she laughed, pausing to take another gulp of her drink. "Besides, I can't pass out, I'm your ride home; you wouldn't want to stay at Shushuya all night, would you?" She knew she wouldn't--the staff might be hospitable but she still preferred sleeping on beds. "If you start getting too sleepy, tell me--or Raidou, if you think he's about to pass out," Tsume told him, pausing for another sip. "It's much easier to carry back someone who's conscious than a passed out idiot, you know?"

Kakashi wasn't pleased with Raidou's response. He thought that Raidou would side with him, saying 'Yeah, they're crazy.' but the response was so cordial towards their drunken friends. He should have expected it from the man. He finished off drink #2 instead of answering Raidou's comment. He poured another as the alcohol hit him hard and the room began to spin. It was all down hill from here.
What Shizune said had him choking on his drink. "Shizune, are you calling me old? You do know that'chu are a year younger than me?" He slurred unintentionally. Now that he was in his mid-30s, Kakashi was sensitive about the word old. He was not old; just ripe with age. He was a fine wine, damn it, he got better with age! Now he felt like Genma, sulking as he took another swig of his drink. He was glad that Tsume had turned her attention elsewhere; being under her gaze at all times was unsettling. Especially after she'd just flirted openly with him. Luckily, no one had seen it. Phew.
He raised an eyebrow as Tsume and Genma began arguing about who would pass out first. "I bet dat...Genma will pass out first." He nodded, sipping his drink. "You have always been a light weight." He nodded, slinging an arm around Genma's shoulder. "Tsume will make sure you get home safely though, right?" He grinned stupidly. This was a comforting thought to Kakashi. Tsume taking Genma home would mean that he would be out of her crosshairs for a...'meeting' tonight.

Shizune was pleased with Genma and Tsume's cooperation despite already forgetting why they were shaking hands at all. She grinned triumphantly anyway, going with the flow of the interactions. "I'm su-ure it won't be that hard," she laughed along with him, polishing off her bottle in the process. She'd accept mindless blinks from him if he couldn't wink for her, but she'd never say that aloud.
Her attention turned back to Kakashi, his defensive question rattling a part of the jounin that must have been softened by the alcohol. She slammed a fist into her upturned hand, gritting her teeth in unfounded aggravation. "Oh, so I'm the old one now?! At least my age doesn't round up to forty." She huffed. In any other less drunken state, Shizune wouldn't have minded being called old. Wisdom followed age and who didn't mind being a little less foolish? However, sake did some undesirable things to the psyche. She crossed her arms and pouted her lip at Kakashi, daring him to go further.
"I would'a guessed Raidou over here," She pointed her thumb towards the shinobi indulging in water (of all things), "but Gen's not lookin' too great." She wished her words rang truer, but she felt herself losing it at record-breaking speeds. Tsume became a human pillow as Shizune rested her head on the other's shoulder, staring down the halved bottle with disgust. "I'm just a little tired, s'all." She nuzzled up closer to Tsume, already preparing to use her as a fully body bed if necessary.

Raidou gave Genma a thumbs up in response to his request, not really intending to keep tabs on who may pass out first. Genma was already very drunk and, really, he expected him to not last long. He had expected Shizune and Kakashi to at least last a while longer before being completely drunk but they had drank to catch up. Why did he always take it upon himself to keep at least somewhat sober and make sure everyone got home? He gave the idea of drinking more himself some thought, but shook it off. He had work to do in the morning and the hangover was not going to help at all.
"Actually Tsume, at this point, I'm sure I'm babysitting all of you." He smiled, not trying to be rude or sarcastic. It was a genuine comment. He really wanted to make sure everyone made it back home... It was almost as if he was giving himself some kind of fatherly task, which did not sit too well with him. After all, they were all adults; he'd probably need to carry Genma home if Tsume forgets but, since they've been drinking non-stop since he walked in, he didn't count out having to help them both. Either that or, in their drunken stupors, they'll finish their flirting and pair off for the night. "I don't mind though -- I get to have a few drinks and have a few laughs."
He was a little wounded that Shizune pegged him as the first to pass out. He didn't really stretch his drinking muscles often but he was able to keep his composure well. It had been a while since he had last gotten drunk. On a day when he wasn't busy, he could go out and really enjoy himself.
"I'm surprised you'd even think to choose me, Shizune. Once I feel the sake kick in, I always switch to water. But, maybe, one day you'll see me drunk."

"Hey, I have no intention of passing out," he replied to Tsume, hands in the air in a defensive position against her adamant beliefs of his own downfall. "Plus, if I do then you're not the only one around here who can give out free lifts. Don't think Rai' would just abandon me like you would," Genma sighed, more than aware that she was probably going to do so now that everyone was catching up with his head-start. It was then that he caught how drunk Shizune and Kakashi seemed, starting to give him hope for his own position. "Or maybe you won't be first," he grinned, lop-sided and lacking it's usual restraint. Kakashi's alcohol tolerance became even clearer as his arm wrapped around Genma's shoulder, and the tokubetsu didn't know whether to further argue his point that he had other friends to take him home that weren't Tsume, or that his alcohol tolerance was not that light in comparison to everyone else his height and weight. "I started off as a lightweight," he decided to correct, not that Kakashi would listen. "I was the first one here to start drinking, and I have yet to flirt with anyone at the table. Not that you can say the same," he teased, ignoring how he leaned into Kakashi's side for support. Genma grimaced at Shizune's comment towards Raidou: already knowing there was someone who's age would round down to 40, let alone round up. Not that he was going to point that out until Tsume commented on it: he quite liked Shizune and didn't want to have to watch her get murdered. "Isn't it what's on the inside that matters most?" He tried to interject first, knowing that Tsume would take any opportunity to rip into the philosophical bullshit he liked to spout--not that what he'd just said was particularly on-par with his usual drivel.

"Do you think I'd abandon you? I always keep my word!" Tsume complained, crossing her arms stubbornly over her chest as if she'd been personally offended, which, in a sense, she sort of was. She didn't want to carry the grown man half a foot taller than her home, but she had agreed to it. "I wouldn't leave someone so helpless to fend for themselves," she told him, clicking her tongue in disapproval. She smirked with Genma as Kakashi's arm wound around the tokubetsu, laughing. "Maybe you won't either."
Even if Kakashi started slower than Genma and held out longer, once he hit a certain point, it was a steady decline, and she wouldn't lie and say it wasn't amusing to watch. "I'm fine! I'll make sure everyone who needs to get home gets home. Maybe Raidou and I can team up to drag everyone home!" she laughed, despite the fact that she was more drunk than she was sober--but even as long as she'd been here, she was still doing better than Kakashi and Shizune were in the short amount of time since they'd joined. At the very least, they were the most obviously muscular of the group--she was sure the two of them could carry the other three home of they needed to.
She didn't miss Shizune's comment about Kakashi's age rounding up to 40 as if he was the oldest at the table, and she did wonder if the medic was aware how old she actually was or if the alcohol had just diminished her filter. Genma's next words were almost as stupid as Shizune's, distracting her from what the girl said--not that she'd really cared. She'd been spending all night telling Genma that they were old and that he had to accept it, and she wasn't about to preach what she didn't practice. "What are we, back in the Academy? What's on the inside? You sound like a young girl's diary, Shiranui!" She rolled her eyes, taking a sip of her sake before setting the cup back down. "I think we all need to come to terms with our old age--aside from this one here," she paused, nudging her head lightly against Shizune's, as the girl was now falling asleep on her shoulder. "She's still fine, but the rest of us are over the hill."

Kakashi raised an eyebrow at Shizune. "You know Shizune-san, you should watchur tongue cause I could tell our friends all about your lil' friend that I did a favor for." It was the most vague way Kakashi could think of when talking about their practice date; he was a little drunk. His head spun around to give attention to Genma and Tsume, only catching the last half of what they were saying. "Whaatt? I'm not over the hill, Tsume-san, don't lump us all in with you." He complained, taking another swig of his sake. He found himself leaning into Genma as well, resting his head on his friend's shoulder. Truly, Kakashi was on his way to Drunksville, not thinking about the consequences his words had.
Kakashi groaned as Genma mentioned flirting. "Excuse me, but if I'm not mistaken, CHOO were flirting wif Shizune earlier. Don't try and and tell me that wasn't flirting." He accused his friend. Kakashi knew he could be a flirt; in fact he was probably flirting right now considering he was the one who'd slung his arm around Genma's shoulder. Oh well. He was already a drink too many in to even try and hide his drunken behavior.
Poor Raidou, though, he thought. He really was babysitting them all. Kakashi volunteered himself, "Raidou-san, no need to trouble yourself in making sure we are all home safely, I'll be just fine. I can walk home just fineee." He tried to reassure his friend, giving him a drunken grin as he nodded his head profusely. "Tsume will take Genma home, and then you can help Shizune-san home, and I'll be okay going home on my own." In truth, Kakashi was going to end up sleeping on a bench outside of Shushuya. It usually ended up that way if a responsible person didn't take him home or over to their apartment.

Through her mental haze, Shizune was fully aware of the irony that came from one of the drunkest people at the table claiming the most sober would pass out first, but she was far from accepting defeat. The medic-nin eyed him questioningly, thinking too hard about hypothetical scenarios in which Raidou was the lightweight of the group. It was close to impossible. "I bet you if there were a few less of us, you'd be under the table this very second." She continued earnestly, fanning the air, "And ya know what? I'll make sure that day comes ve-ry soon." She nodded with satisfaction. He may never be completely drunk in her presence, but the possibility was more than enough for her and it was gracious of him to entertain the far-fetched thought.
It was only after Shizune defended her age, or lack there of, that she realized how sensitive the topic was for some at the table. She turned at Genma's quick interjection. "As someone who's seen her fair share of innards, I can confidently agree with you, Gen." She sipped at her bottle, pushing it further away in disdain. "A human's insides heavily reflect their age." Now may not have been the most appropriate time for a wisecrack, but considering who she was surrounded by, each one would find a way to indulge in their friend's trite response. Tsume chimed in right on cue. Shizune started to thank the tokubetsu but a hiccup squeaked in its place. An appreciative shoulder pat would have to do, thinking it best to avoid saying anything else stupid for the night.
Kakashi's threat was far too close to home. It didn't help that he said this as he hung onto the reason for the practice date like a monkey on a tree (a tree on a tree?). "You...wouldn't...dare." She enunciated her backless counter-threat the best she could through her weighted tongue, staring the jounin down. It would have been more effective if she hadn't been leaning on Tsume, but she was too comfortable and almost everyone appeared incapable enough to remember the things discussed tonight. Raidou was the only exception, but Shizune doubted he'd hold it over her head.

"Tsume, I don't think that's the best idea. I can take of whoever isn't capable of going home!"
He tried to sway Tsume away from taking care of any of the other jounin; she was not in the best condition herself, and having her take care of someone else when she wasn't in her best of wits seemed wrong. He didn't want to come off as some white knight, trying to assure the best of everyone at the table. It was more out of concern than anything else -- he had enough experience with Genma to know that it wasn't best to loose drunk jounin into the village.
Kakashi piped up as well, claiming he was fine to be left alone. Obviously, that wasn't going to happen and, since Kakashi wasn't really thinking straight, he'd have to take him back to his home as well. He sighed and gave Kakashi a quick wave to shut him down.
"Kakashi, don't worry. You're no burden. If necessary, one of us will get you home."
He humored Shizune's comment, wondering whether or not that was an invitation for a future outing. She had said it as if it was fact, not doubting he'd have been drunk as well. He wasn't denying that -- usually, both Genma and him were drunk around the same time. Neither one out-drank the other, really. He was on par with every other at the table; he just paced himself better, it seemed. Finishing off his glass of water, he turned and called for another one. It sounded ridiculous to be asking for water at Shushuya, especially if he was speaking up as if he was proud, but they were used to him here.
"That day may come soon. Who knows?"

There was nothing to do but laugh off Kakashi's accusations about flirting, too drunk to work out what the proper answer would be. He hadn't even been openly flirting with Shizune, but arguing against it would just look weird, and it wasn't as if Genma was known for being conservative about flirting in the first place. "Oh please," he grinned at Kakashi, elbow playfully nudging him in the ribcage as Tsume started shouting at him, again. It was no secret that Tsume had no time for Genma's viewpoints on life--everything seemed to be very black and white to her, where as Genma liked to muse over the grey while looking to Raidou to validate whatever moral crisis he was having over it.
"Nothing wrong with sounding like a young girl's diary," he shrugged, knowing that he'd spoken them with such intentions. "Surely even you kept a diary too, even you had to have been a cute little girl at some point. Not that I was ever old enough to remember it; betcha' could have had little pig tails. How sweet," he slurred, having to restrain himself from snorting at the thought. He was distracted from Tsume by Shizune's quick interjection afterwards, face blanking as he processed her words. He couldn't seriously believe she was talking about drying internal organs while they were trying to drink, and he couldn't believe that he was loving ever second of it.
Genma tried to keep a straight face at Shizune's comment, teeth biting over his lower lip in an attempt to try muffling himself. Inevitably, he had a lack of control over the situation and ended up laughing anyway. It was free and light, quite different from his usual chuckling, which was often quiet and controlled. He was sure that the alcohol was fuelling his laughter on even further, head coming to rest against the inside of his arm to try and muffle himself into a politer state. He managed to reduce himself down to an uncharacteristic giggle, wiping at his eyes with the back of his hand. "M'sorry Shizune, I just--fuck," he started laughing again, giving up hope on being polite.

"I'm not lumping in anyone who shouldn't be lumped in; she's right, once you age rounds up to forty you're old. Nothing wrong with it! I got Shiranui to come to terms with his fleeting youth earlier, maybe it'll do everyone else good to toast to their fleeting youth as well." She laughed, looking both to Raidou and Kakashi expectantly, though she was sure the two wouldn't go along with it. What was it with ninja under forty who were so scared of numbers? At 41, she didn't feel any slower or weaker or lesser than anyone else at the table--it wasn't as if they were about to turn 60. Still, if they wanted to live in the fantasy world where they were still the youth of the village, who was she to argue? Their youth had been terrible--she had no idea why they'd want to drag it out.
What she wasn't so fond of was Genma's suggestion of what Tsume looked like as a child, even the description making her cringe at how emasculated it made her feel. She wasn't sensitive about her age, but she didn't want to be treated like she was dainty, and even if he was referring to her in her youth, she wasn't fond of the concept that she could ever have been dainty. She'd worked hard to maintain her place among the men of the village, well aware that strong women were far fewer in their ranks than strong men. "I was never a cute little girl!" she barked at him defensively, feet going to kick at him under the table again, though whether she'd actually hit him or someone sitting next to him.
As Genma started laughing over what better not have been an image of Tsume with pigtails, she turned her attention to the medicnin resting on her shoulder and her conversation with Raidou, actually managing to catch enough of the tail end of it to understand what they were discussing. "She's got a point, Raidou! It's no fun if you never drink with us. I wonder if you're as much of a lightweight as Kakashi and you just don't want us to know," she put her chin her hands, sighing at him. Chances were, only Genma knew what Raidou was like when he actually got drunk--Tsume would just have to bide her time until she got to find out as well.

Kakashi completely ignored Shizune's wise cracks about innards, moving onto the juicier secret he was storing. He lifted his head up to give his friend a shit-eating grin. "Ohhh~ I would dareee if you keep callin' me ol'!" He hiccuped, not at all cowed by her threat. Alcohol made Kakashi more obnoxious, even more so than he already was when he was sober. He was overly confident when drunk as well, while usually more humble when sober.
Karma came back to bite him though as Tsume's kick hit his shin instead. Kakashi yelped loudly, lifting both his legs up immediately just in case a second kick came. He didn't even remember what Genma and Tsume had been arguing about. Were they even arguing? Time was moving so quickly, and some of the words coming out of his friend's mouths were jumbled. Kakashi unhooked his arm from around Genma to turn around to Raidou to complain, "Tsume kicked mee," validating that he was in no condition to walk himself home. He'd already forgotten that he had insisted on letting Raidou off the babysitting hook.
It was clear at this point that Kakashi was drunk. He was throwing back alcohol way too quickly, and if someone didn't cut him off, he definitely would become a hot mess, worse than he was now. He leaned his head on Genma's shoulder again, so hung up that Tsume had kicked him. "Genma...Tsume...she kicked me!" He complained. He caught the last half of what the Inuzuka said, and poorly defended himself, "I....I'm not that much of a lightweight. You're sho...mean."

She dearly wanted to reply to him with "I know," as the medic-nin was already planning a time and date in her mind to go drinking with Raidou again. "How about sometime next week, hmm?" It was ambitious and highly doubtful he would actually accept; the jounin showed nothing but control over his drinking habits throughout this entire night. There was still the off-chance Raidou would feel up for another round of headaches, maybe if she caught him on an afternoon when he had nothing planned for the following day.
Genma's chuckling burst out of nowhere and she was taken aback by its suddenness. Shizune meant for her comment to be clever, humorous even, but his uncontrollable laughs came out of left field. It wasn't entirely obvious whether he was mocking her or genuinely found her comment that funny, but either way it was unnerving. "Did I...break you?" She started to reach her hand out in concern, but retracted it right before it made contact with his arm, thinking it best to let his hysterics finish themselves off naturally. Her confusion was amplified by the alcohol, spawning an overreaction to what was only drunken laughter. She turned questioningly towards Tsume, hoping she'd have an answer.
The change in Kakashi was evident and almost as concerning as Genma's laughter. She was aware that she was drunk and was feeling it, still relying on Tsume as a wall to prevent her from keeling over, but Kakashi appeared to have little to no awareness of his own state. He was wasted, pure and simple. Who's the lightweight now? Well, still her, but her drunken state could be played off as 'Shizune being loud and intense'...sometimes. Kakashi was an entirely different story. She smirked, narrowing her eyes at the silver-haired ninja and having her own battle to hold back the screams of laughter boiling within her. "I always remembered you handling your drink better than this." She lied. "I s-uppose that's what happens when you," a snicker and a knowing wink,"you know..."
