Some may consider it unusual for a medical-nin to be pleased--nay, celebrate--the sprains and tears that came into the hospital on a daily basis, but after witnessing the countless number of our comrades injured, maimed, and dead on the battlefield, anything is welcome.
Shizune was growing anxious, craving some kind of task or mission to keep her mentally and physically occupied. Naruto already assured her he'd finish his paperwork in a timely fashion, reassuring her that if he were to get off-task, which was very likely, Kiba would be there to put him back in line. She didn't expect how much time she'd have with the war over. Maybe it was finally time to live out her retirement dream and apply for a cashier job at Amaguriama. 'I'm still too young and lively,' she thought to herself as she walked to the hospital, Tonton at her side.
Usually Tsunade would come in today to supervise the other medics and assist them when necessary, but today she had business elsewhere and it was no doubt with a bottle and some cards. She couldn't possibly dissuade her, though it was doubtful her old teacher would listen to her, and of anyone, Tsunade deserved to have a little fun. Shizune entered the building without pause, examining her surroundings only to count half a dozen or so patients waiting silently to be seen. A muffled groan, some sniffling and the light pattering of tears echoed in the blank interior of the waiting area. She closed her eyes and took a small breath, absorbing this moment of harmonic healing. No lives are being viciously taken, only saved. A small smile bloomed on her face as she approached an academy student holding her arm, her face contorted with internal pain. Shizune knelt beside the girl, asking her what battle wound she got today. They spoke quietly for a few moments, the young girl petting Tonton with her good hand. Shizune let her know she's a 'strong, growing kunoichi who needs to stay away from trees for the next few days' while focusing her chakra on the sprained arm. Giggles and thank-you's were exchanged, but the medical-nin knew deep down it would only be so long until things got serious.
